You already know what I think about everything that younique has to offer for the eye and lips... on to the face.
ILLUMINATE CLEAN/CLEAR FACIAL CLEANSER:
I haven't tried them. So as you can imagine not much to review. I would assume that they work just fine have heard a mix of good reviews about both. They retail for $39... which is about average when you are talking about good skin care products. I personally use philosophy which I love and is the reasons I haven't tried younique. Despite the rave reviews from others... I know what works for me and wont chance it because there is no make up that compares to good skin.
TOUCH MINERAL FOUNDATION CREAM
I will start off by saying I am not a fan of this type of product. Younique is the only one like it I have ever owned so I don't really have anything to compare it to. That being said... I find that this cream foundation that comes in a compact is well... I am not really sure how to describe the texture. I would not quite say creamy. It give good coverage but after trying 3 different shades I just can not find the one that best matches my skin tone so none of them have really looked good on me. Aside from the color match issue that I have with this I feel like while it gives good coverage its not quite enough so I would still wear powder over it. Retail price is $32.
MOODSTRUCK MINERAL CONCEALERS
Love this one! But I have been wearing Bareminerals for years and in comparison they are very similar. Lightweight. Easy even coverage. I find it is enough that on days that I am not really feeling the make up thing this is enough in and of itself with nothing added. It cost $29 and is well worth it. As with all powders but loose powder in particular you want to remember that less it more. You can always add to what you have done but if you put too much it is not so easy to go back and even out for lighter coverage.
TOUCH MINERAL PRESSED POWDER
I feel like I have a love hate relationship with the pressed powder by younique. I use this mostly for just light touching up through out the day which it is perfect for if you use it sparingly. The finish on it is just a little too matte for me. Although I imagine if you have oily skin or oily patches the pressed powder would be perfect for you. When I have used it on my entire face no matter how little I use it always looks caked on. I like that it is convenient and is definitely one of the items I keep in my bag when I will be out for the day but not something I would use as part of my regular make up routine.
BB FLAWLESS
I can not say enough about how much I live the BB Flawless complexion enhancer! It is perfect for Highlight and contour. Perfect for everyday use. It is light. Goes on smooth and seamless. Most days it is all I wear. BB Flawless gives flawless coverage! And the best part is you cant really even tell you have it on that is how light it is. This product costs $39... and is well worth it! It is probably my favorite product put out by younique other than of course the mascara. Younique also just came out with all new blending buds which really work like a dream for applying and blending the BB Flawless. Even better they come in a bundle which allows you to save and is really all you need for a perfectly contoured face!
ROSE WATER
"Spray this natural wonder on clean skin to add hydration and subtract redness and oil. Apply before make up to prep or after to help set your fabulous face for the whole day."
Hmmmm... I have the rose water. Tried it in everyway described and have to say... I can not see a difference when I use this product. It does however work really well with the eye pigments if you want to wet them for more vibrant or as liner to get a precise line. But plain old tap water works just as well so for this one I have to say save your $29.

Younique Review PART 2: LIPS
So the magic mascara got your attention but now you see Younique has so much more to offer. Is the rest of it magical? Well maybe not quite magical but there are few things that are definitely worth a try.
LUCRATIVE LIP GLOSS
Lucrative? Not sure why they chose this as the name of their gloss nonetheless it is a good product with a reasonable price tag. They are $15 each or 3 for $40. Really not a bad price. The glosses come in 10 colors. While I have to say I do like all of them my favorites are Lavish, Lethal, and Lovesick. They all give a decent amount of color with high shine just like you would expect from a gloss. They are not sticky or gooey which is always a plus and they compliment most of the liners Younique has to offer. They are also great worn alone. Glosses in general are not my personal favorite cause I like the dense color that lipstick gives but these are definitely my go to on days that I feel like wearing less or just want some extra shine.
MOODSTRUCK PRECSION LIP LINER
Liners go for the the same price as the gloss which I think is a good deal. You can also save and bundle on these too. First the good about the liners. The colors are vibrant. They go on smooth. Can be worn as matte lipstick (LOVE) or liner. They LAST all day and then some. Primal is my personal favorite. It is almost like a hot pink with a red undertone. I absolutely love to pair Primal with the Pristine Liner from the eye collection for the ombre look. The only thing that you have be careful about is making sure that your lips are not dry or cracked if you are gonna use the white liner... it will show... and make your lips look chunky and flaky which is not ever sexy or cute or ok... so if you have chapped lips do not fill them in with Pristine. The bad or just not so good... the lip liners come in a very limited selection and there are not many colors that suit me. But if there were... I'd probably buy them all.
STIFF UPPER LIP LIP STAIN
"Smudge-proof. Smooch-proof. Worry-free." Quite the claim! And also makes this product sound AMAZING! Which unfortunately I find that it is not. Although I have seen fantastic results on others it just doesn't work for me. I applied the first coat. Sultry was the color I used. It is stain so you have to expect that it will be watery... and it is. I found it hard to get it on evenly. More than that I found it hard to keep it contained and looking precise. But once I got it on... it looked GOOD! For a few minutes. In less than three minutes my lips had almost absorbed all of it and something about that just doesn't sit right with me. I mean all the color was gone... so the claim is half true. I didn't have to worry about kissing it off or smudging it because there was simply nothing there. Huge disappointment! So I put a second coat on... and had the same result. Third coat... slightly more color stayed. But lets be honest who wants to keep applying the same thing for mediocre results... oh and it costs $22 and for that price I expect it do a little more. Don't worry it is not a total waste. Urban Decay makes a fantastic lip liner called Ozone. It is a clear sort of base liner that goes great with a product like this. Apply Ozone first and you don't have to worry about feathering, it also lets you maintain a precise defined lip. I find with using Ozone first the color also lasts a little longer.

Younique Review (my honest opinoin) PART 1: EYES
3D MOODSTRUCK FIBER LASH MASCARA
If you are on Facebook chances are you have been added to a dozen or more groups in an effort to get you to buy some "magic mascara". MAGIC MASCARA?! Is there really such a thing? I know you are at the very least curious. Which probably lead you to browsing through some of the dramatic result pictures. Depending on what group your in the results either look magical or seriously scary. At a glance you may think your looking at a pretty girl with gorgeous blue eyes that are sprouting tarantula legs! I promise she isn't... she just got carried away. Happens to the best of us.
3d fiber lash mascara is easy to use but like anything else requires a little practice to really get the hang of it... and once you do you will believe in magic mascara too! The mascara retails for $29.00. If you are used to buying drug store brands your jaw probably just dropped. If you shop at Ulta or Sephora you know that these prices are totally comparable. But is it worth it? My honest opinion.... TOTALLY! The length and volume that you get from this mascara will have people guessing if you are wearing false lashes (which is a good thing) if it is applied correctly.
The directions that come with the mascara tell you to start with applying your own mascara first. I know... what?! why would I use my own mascara when I just spent $29.00 on this?! Well for the most dramatic results start with a coat of your usual stuff. For everyday that is a step I would suggest you skip. Your results will still be amazing.
The trick to this mascara is to apply more gel and less green tea fiber. If you fully coat your lashes with "transplanting gel" (the stuff that looks like mascara) from bottom to top applying in a zig zag motion and then immediately with out doing the other eye apply the green tea fibers just to the ends of your lashes you should see a significant change in the length and volume. Don't go over board with the fibers you just want enough that you can see the difference. Before you move to the other eye repeat applying the gel from bottom to top in a zig zag motion making sure you are completely covering all of the fibers. One coat should be more than enough. If you want a super dramatic look you can apply two or more coats... but beware this where you may start to tread tarantula territory. Don't go over board. With all make up LESS IS MORE.
MOODSTRUCK MINERAL PIGMENTS
Tiny jars full of loose brilliantly colored powder. The only thing that I can compare these to are the loose eye pigments from bareminerals. The colors are great and highly pigmented. They can be used wet or dry. They work fabulous as liner and while they are one of my favorites I don't recommend them for everyone. I did... at one time but have learned from various friends that if you are not used to working with loose pigments or make up in general they can be a little difficult. They were also recently marked up quite a bit in price and I'm not sure how I feel about that. They now retail for $12.50 each which isn't outrageous but a little on the pricier side. One thing that I love about companies like Urban Decay and Stila is that their shadows come in palettes with complimentary colors making it sort of a no brainer to figure out what works with what. The Younique pigments are all sold individually so it makes it a little tough to pick the right color combinations if you don't already know what you like.
GLORIOUS FACE AND EYE PRIMER
The name says it all. It does feel Glorious. But at $39.00 I have to say... save your money. While Glorious may work well as a primer for the rest of your face I don't care for it as a base for eye make up... more specifically the mineral pigments. Matte white primer is your best bet. I personally like NYX. It goes on smooth. Makes any eye color look brighter and last longer and it retails for $7.00!
UP LIFT EYE SERUM
I would love to review it but can't. One because mine fell off the bathroom counter and shattered all over the floor. Yes the bottle is glass. But two because I don't have puffy eyes or dark circles. I have seen some awesome results from other girls but can't personally vouch. It sells for $65.00 so I would hope it does what it promises.
MOODSTRUCK PRECISION LINERS
I have these in just about every color and love all of them. There is no downside here. They retail at the right price selling for $15.00 (less if you buy the bundle). Each one is true to color. Goes on smooth. Never smudges. Even stays on the water line. Perfect which is a true black is my personal favorite and the one I wear just about everyday. Prim and Proper are perfect for filling in your brows. Pristine which is white is not just great as an eye liner but is my go to for the doing on ombre lip.

SPLURGE CREAM EYE SHADOW
OMG! AMAZING! It is rich and creamy smooth and silky. Goes on like a dream. It shimmers and glitters. Looks gorgeous all on its own or as an accent over you favorite color. But they hit the nail on the head with the name. It is definitely a "splurge" item. It sells for $26.00 for one tiny jar. Worth it? For a make up junkie like me... yes! But Ill let you be the judge.

selfie 101
So you have done your hair and perfected your make up... now you wanna show it off. What better way than to post a selfie. While you don't need to be a professional photographer there are a few basics you need to know to capture the best picture... of you.
Lighting.... is EVERYTHING! Aim for natural light... sunlight if possible. Stand by a window or a door where the most light natural light comes in. You want to stand so that the light is in front of you not behind you. If the light is behind you the picture will come out too dark. Having the light in front of you will highlight your make up and catch the color in your eyes. You really can't go wrong with natural light... as long as it is not bright enough to make you squint.
Background... check what is behind you. Nothing worse than showing the world your pretty face with a giant pile of dirty laundry right behind you. Or the bathroom selfie.... we know there is a mirror and you wanna check yourself but also check that your toilet doesn't sneak into the picture.
Angle.... take your picture from a flattering angle. If you take the picture with your phone angled up from under your chin... you will look like.... well just don't do. It pretty much makes everyone look like they have a double chin and no one wants to see up your nose. Your best bet is to hold your phone slightly above your head and angle it down.
Keep snapping... the only way to find out what suits you best is to snap away that way you have lots of shots to choose from.
Confidence is key. Don't be afraid to make a silly face... smile big... you want your selfie to capture your personality.... a little glimpse of who you are. Be cute. Be quirky. Be sexy. Be true to you.
After you have the perfect shot take advantage of the filters already loaded on your phone. Filters are fun and can give your photo a whole new feel. They can minimize imperfections or give your photo a cool vintage or artsy look. Be creative ... the more unique the better.
So go ahead and take your best shot then tag me and show me what you got!

"Put on some red lipstick and live a little"
"She has a way with words, red lip stick, and making an entrance." - Kate Spade
I used to see red lip stick on a girl and think... I wish I could pull that off. I used to look at a girl with red lip stick and think... wow! Cause there is just something about red lipstick that says "look at me"... something about red lip stick that screams confidence and whispers sexy.
I have tried a dozen or more red lipsticks and none seemed to suit me and I was resolved to the fact that I was just not one of those girls that red lip stick was made for. Until I found 69 by Urban Decay. And now I am in love and convinced that every girl needs a little red lipstick in her life.
"Heels and red lipstick will put the fear of God into people." - Dita Von Reese
Why do I love that quote... maybe because there is just a little bit of truth in it. Red is bold. It makes a statement... I am a force to be reckoned with. Maybe it isn't so much about how it looks but how it makes you feel and there is nothing that looks better on a woman than confidence! Think red isn't for you? Well I did a little digging and it seems there is a shade of red that will suit anyone. You just have to find yours. How do you that?
Again it all goes back to tone... if you have a very pale complexion don't go with crimson red... unless you like the vampy look. Go more with a coral red or something with more of an orange hue. If you have olive skin you can most likely rock a true red. Darker skin you want to go with a darker kinda purplish red.
Once you find the shade that best suits your tone there are just a few things to remember.... red bleeds or feathers whatever you want to call it. To avoid looking like you drank cool aid you might want to line your lips with a color closest to your natural lip color before applying the lipstick.
When wearing red lipstick you also want to avoid going to heavy on the eye make up. My favorite look for red lipstick is the pin up look. Super classic and easy. Just some winged black liner and the fuller the lashes the better (but that's always) and some well defined brows and your good to go.

I want to be one of them... shhhhhhhhhh
